Mum on the hill

Just another mummy blog...

About me

Just a Mum who lives on a hill. With her three kids, husband, dog, tortoise, chickens, hamster and fish. I work in law and play in the gym, whilst moonlighting as a cleaner, cook, appointment maker and teacher.  For the love of my inner voice I decided to start a blog, however, I am by no means under any impression that anyone will actually read the thing, other than my husband (and only to check if I mention him).

All my children are equally spaced, the third being the absolute final.  ‘The first born’, ‘the girl’ and ‘the little one’.   The first born is the sensible one, an entrepreneur in the making and he makes me very proud.  The girl is unique and an inspiration to us all, she battles lung disease but hides it well, she also lives in her pajamas and regularly looks like she’s been dragged through a hedge backwards.  The little one is my cuddlier and definitely a mummy’s boy.  I love them all and would chop off their Dad’s left nut for anything they need, like you do. I also ensure they are all fed on the daily, multiple times in fact and taken care of until their teeth are sparkling, their clothes are clean and they live reasonably happy lives.  Whether I actually succeed is another question.

I spend my days sleep deprived, looking like a scruff whilst feeling the urge to explain that I look like a scruff due to the sleep deprivation thing. I survive on tea, chocolate and red wine, then some more tea, usually in that order throughout the day, with some wine gums thrown in for good measure.  On the side I hold down a real job where I get to speak with real life adult people, drink hot tea and wee with the door closed.  My office persona includes attempting to look half presentable, engaging in appropriate adult conversation and offering real life people legal advice which will not result in either them nor me being thrown in prison, somewhere I suspect I would get to sleep all night but wouldn’t much like the tea…
